For non-science majors. This course is designed for students whose major does not require the more mathematically intensive CHEM 1210 or CHEM 1220 courses. First of a two-semester sequence. Progression is made from the basic tenets of general chemistry through an introduction to organic chemistry, with topics being presented in order of practical importance and sophistication. Prerequisite/Restriction: MATH 1050 (prerequisite/corequisite) OR a C or better in MATH 1010 OR an Accuplacer score of 60 or better OR MATH ACT of 24 OR MATH SAT of 570 OR satisfactory completion (C or better) of the MATH 0995 as a prerequisite.
