ARTH 3850 - FILM STUDIES (CI/DHA)

This course is designed as an overview of some of the key histories, methodologies and concepts in film studies. The course engages a number of significant films by way of investigating aesthetic, stylistic, political, and theoretical approaches to the study of cinema. We will be looking beyond the boundaries of American film to embrace Expressionism, the French New Wave, Neo-Realism and Third Cinema. Prerequisites/Restrictions: ART/ARTH Majors and ARTH Minors Only or Permission of Instructor
